Nonchalant LAN #2
Nonchalant LAN #2 ran from 3:00PM 12th March til 3:00PM 13th March at Matt's house.
Matt was un-prepared and I had to bring 2 computers to his place as he didn't even have one setup for the LAN.
CAmo got us some new XBOX games: Project Snowblind, Psi-Op's, Mercaneries and Mech Assault 2 (Limited Edition).
The limited edition of Mech Assault 2 is the same as the normal one but it comes with an extra disc (650mb in size) which contains a couple of new multiplayer maps and a making of video. Pathetic.
Project Snowblind goes System Link but not split-screen and definately not both so no having 2 people on the same XBOX. The multiplayer wasn't thought out very well. Nobody has 16 TV's and XBOX's to play a 16 player match.
Bucci backed out of coming to the LAN at the last minute with an excuse that he has a cold (What's new!)
First game we played was Dawn of War. After a couple matches of that we decided to play Doom 3 Last Man Standing. We were playing that 6 room map and we got up to the second last room and died (The same place me and Phate get to when doing it without the others to help)
After playing Doom 3 Last Man Standing everoyne wanted to play Republic Commando. I talked us into playing Doom 3 Flashlight mod where it is pitch black and you only got a flashlight with 1 hit kill. That was awesome and we played it for a long time then finally got around to playing Republic Commando. Everyone was cut at me for using the really noob pulse laser assault rifle cannon type thingy.
After this we played Starcraft for a couple of rounds, took me awhile to get my Battle .NET Server Emulator (PVPGN) running properly without it updating my Starcraft where i'd need a new no-cd crack. We got it working eventually. We played a few games of Starcraft, one with us all free for all and the other couple rounds with us teamed against the computer. The computer on Starcraft cheaps way too badly, just when I was up to building dragoons my base was destroyed by Dark Templer's.
Then we went back to playing Republic Commando and we made a rule nobody was to use the pulse laser assault rifle type gun. The game was less interesting for me as nobody was getting pissed off at me so I got it a few times and used it to kill some people :P
After this it was back to the Doom 3 Flashlight mod beacuse it ruled way too badly. After about 2 rounds of that we got tired of it and then we were sitting around wondering what it is that we should play.
Matt suggested Freelancer but it never worked as the LAN Servers never showup in the browser....except this time! Phate's server showed up fine in the list and we were away and playing. A few hours later Phate realised that we weren't really doing much in the game and hacked his save up. I proceeded to play Doom 3 Single Player (I never did around to finishing that game) and CAmo proceeded to play the worst game i've ever seen.
The next day it was Pizza for breakfast and shitall in the way of gameplaying, mind you we did in fact play Freelancer from about 2am until about 7-8am. That game rules but it gets pretty boring.
After some quick breakfast we jumped into a game of Mech Assault 2 on the XBOX. A lot of the time we just had our armored suit thing and not a mech just doing deathmatch. Whoever the fuck thought this was a good idea should have a rusty fork rammed into their eye.
Not much else happened until 3pm (I can't really remember much, i'm tired I guess)
